Hello, Happy Sunday! So, I was inspired today and thought to share this .... Matt 18:3 (NKJV) And he said, “Assuredly, I say to you, unless you are
converted and become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom
of heaven.”
There is a young mischievous chap in the compound where I
stay and he is naughty as can be. I love him but I can be tough on him too,
especially when he is being unnecessarily naughty. I spank him. As all children
he doesn’t enjoy spanking and for that, he threatens me the way he deems fit.
He says, “I will tell my daddy for you”
To him his daddy is his savior, his messiah, his protector
and his defender (see where am going with this?). Does that remind you of
anyone you know?
“Call
upon me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you shall glorify me”
Psalm 50:15.
Lets dive in a little further; in the young lad’s mind when
he says he is reporting me, he turns the table on me and I have to plead or
pacify him, else his daddy will “show me pepper.” His dad might not be the
strongest man in the world but he has so much faith in him that it doesn’t
matter Who was against him, He was sure his dad would triumph over them.
Isn’t this what Jesus achieved for us? The bible says in Col
2:15 “having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of
them triumphing over them in it”.
Hey so what has this got to do with this illness affecting
me, or my job, marriage, finances, children, my ability to have children, my
relationship, my marriage you might be asking. Well, when was the last time you
reported that issue to God? When was the last time you told the challenge, “My
Father will show you pepper”? I think one thing Christians have missed these
days is the simplicity of the gospel, we are too focused on self.
So, just like that young lad that believes his dad is the
world’s strongest man, we actually have the World’s strongest man on our side
so who can touch us? If God be on our side who can be against us? Let us be
like that child and report the matter to God and watch him come running to our
aide because He is the Lord that has loved us with an everlasting love. Shalom.
