Of a son of this family after based in the US for some time, Bassam returns for his nephew’s wedding and he starts to see things in his home country which was the same reason he left in the first place.  Bassam is forced to stay at his brothers side after his Father passes on, to rule a religious nation.

Episode 1 season three
Season 2 of tyrant comes to halt when Jamal is shot by his daughter in-law, now every body wants Bassam to be president, he uses the time he has to set up a cabinet and later opened up that he wouldn't be running for the elections.

Episode 3 season Three: Bassam's daughter was kidnapped in episode two by Ihab Rashid, when he actually wanted her mother in fake-exchange gone wrong after Bassam partnered with the US soldier to help get his daughter BACK.
