First governor of the Eastern Nigerian state

#Throw back to Nigerian History.
                                    Sir Francis Akanu Ibiam who was born on 29 of November 1906 in Afikpo, Ebonyi state.  
He attended king’s college Lagos and Hope Weddell training institute Calabar.
He also attended the university of St. Andrews, United Kingdom and graduated with a medical degree in 1934.
He is mostly regarded by the Biafran people for his act of retaliating the majesty’s government and returned all his British imperial awards to queen Elizabeth II of England in 1968.
He was responsible for most of the first developmental projects that were carried out in the Eastern part of Nigeria.
He was honored to be an officer of the civil division of the most excellent order of the British empire (O.B.E) for services to church and state. Also the knight commander of the civil division of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire

He was appointed governor by her royal majesty in 1960 with the assent of the president of the federal republic of Nigeria.
